As I enter into what should be my last month as president, I’d like to take a look back at our accomplishments over the last 2 years.

We started the term by ensuring Rabbi Bazer’s 3-year contract so that we can continue our great stability that we’ve had over the past decade plus. The Rabbi’s and my relationship has grown and I can safely assume we will continue to be in constant contact; bouncing ideas off of each other to improve our spiritual offerings.

Most recently, I’m glad to announce that in May I signed a 2-year lease agreement with the MetroWest Jewish Day School. The lease contains a provision for a 3rd year option. Our future endeavors together with the JCHE (Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly) haven’t come into focus yet and we will continue to work as a group over the next year to see how this plays out.

Over the last 2 years we’ve made lots of improvements to the building, inside and out, with new carpeting in the Sanctuary, hallways, and lobby. As well as giving the hallway and lobby a fresh coat of paint.  New energy efficient light bulbs have been installed throughout the entire building and as a result our electricity costs have gone down significantly.

I will be highlighting a lot of the above and much more at the Congregational meeting on the evening of June 21st after Minyan. I hope to see a lot of you there. At the congregational meeting we will be voting in a new Executive Board as well as new Board of Trustees members.

I would like to thank the following Board of Trustees members who will NOT be renewing their terms:  Andy Gruber, Richard Diamond, Mark Granoff, and David Krendel. All of these individuals have served for many years on the board and their service was greatly appreciated. I’m sure they’ll continue to support the Temple in other ways.

Also, thank you to all of the supporting committees and their chairs, such as Ritual, Education, House, By-laws, Youth, TBS Tots, Brotherhood, Sisterhood, et al. When working as a team using our Strategic Plan, we accomplished so much.

Lastly, I’d like to thank the current E-Board for their support and guidance to me over the last 2 years. Our lively discussions are something that I’m going to miss.
