May 2018

Even though there are plenty of things going on at Temple Beth Sholom, there’s not much to report from the President’s side of things.   Our fiscal year is coming to a close in less than 2 months.  So far, even with this large amount of snow and downed trees, we are showing an ever slight surplus.  The Board of Trustees will be looking at the FY2018-2019 Budget at the May and June meetings and we will present this budget at the congregational meeting on the 21st of June.

I would like to comment on the recent activities that the Temple has been a part of.  The Yom Hashoah service, held at Temple Beth Am this year, was well attended by all 3 Temples: Temple Israel, Temple Beth Sholom, and Temple Beth Am.  I had the chance to attend Minyan before the Yom Hashoah services and with all 3 Temples present, Temple Beth Am asked if Temple Beth Sholom would run the Minyan service.   Yasher Koach to Norma Kramer who handled the service like the pro that she is!

Also, the 70th anniversary of the State of Israel weekend was extremely well attended by our congregants thanks to the Israel Action committee.  Both Friday night and Saturday services were filled with great singing by Rav-Hazzan Sokol and it was a great weekend.

B’Shalom,
Dave
