January 2017

For the first time since the beginning of my term, I feel that I can finally sit back and try to relax a little (very little).  Religious school is in full swing, the High Holidays have passed, the first set of B’nai Mitzvot have completed, and we’re headed into the secular calendar year-end.

That’s not to say there’s nothing going on!  Our Strength-to-Strength campaign is in full force.  If you haven’t received a call yet or donated yet, please try to give your support by either calling the office or going to http://donate.beth-sholom.org.  100% of the money goes to support our budget.

I’m excited about our 2nd Seder night planning.  We haven’t had a Seder at TBS for a few years and I’m looking forward to being a part of that.  It makes TBS feel more like a family when we celebrate holidays togethers.

The Board of Trustees has been working diligently with the Strategic Planning committee to make sure all committees are working together and sharing strategies at each meeting.  If I could pick one word to describe the meetings it would be “focused”.

The main message across committees is the same: Make TBS an inviting, welcoming place as a forefront to drive membership.  At each Board meeting, members come together and really try to help each other out with planning.

One of the exciting changes we decided was to have coffee and pastries each Shabbat morning.  A congregant has stepped forward and donated the money to do this for the foreseeable future!

As always, we welcome all ideas. Please contact me with yours!
