High Holiday Meaningfulness for EVERYONE 9:30-10:30

Would you like to add more meaning and fullness to your High Holiday experience? Regardless of how many HH services you’ve attended in your life or your religious background or how relevant being at synagogue for these holy days is for you, this lively session is for YOU and open to all, including anyone touched by intermarriage. Join Esther Kosofsky for little HH review and thoughtful discussion about enjoyable and purposeful HH experiences. A little exploration about the High Holidays opens a world of connection. This session is geared towards anyone touched by interfaith relationships: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.

Meaningful Ways to Celebrate (not simply “observe”) the High Holidays 10:30-11:30

The High Holidays are upon us. Whether your family attends synagogue for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur or observes the holidays in ways that work for you and yours, this SholomPlex session is an opportunity to discuss how the Holidays are a time for celebration in the New Year. Specifically, we’ll discuss sweet-tasting traditions (honey + more), the shofar (what’s the ‘sounding’ all about?), Tashlich (‘casting away’ what and where?) and more ways we can honor (rejoice in) the High Holidays together. This session is geared toward interfaith couples raising Jewish children.
