Barnes & Noble Book Fair

Get some Chanukah shopping done, entertain the kids, and support TBS! Join us at Barnes & Noble in Framingham on Sunday, December 11 from 3:30pm – 5pm. For the kids, enjoy Chanukah Storytime with Cheska Komisar, and take part in a Chanukah Book Discussion with Rabbi Bazer.

You can also shop throughout the day, as long as you bring along your Bookfair Voucher! We’ll earn up to 20% back on purchases you make during our book fair. For more information, contact Dianne Wolpert.

USY Shabbat and Friday Night Speaker

This Friday night, December 2nd, is a special night as our USYer’s lead the Friday night service along with USYer’s from other Synagogues.  We are pleased that Congregation Or Atid will be joining with us!

elon-strickerAfter the service, we will hear from Elon Stricker, AIPAC Synagogue Initiative Director, speaking on “The Fight for Israel on Campus: What to Expect & the Opportunities that Await.”

Our service will begin at 7:30 pm with the speaker program at 8:15 and a festive Oneg following the service.

Join us on Saturday morning, December 3rd, for SholomPlex featuring Traditional Services from 9:30-11:45, Torah, Mussar and Yoga from 9:30-10:30, Parsha Divers with Fredda Hamilton and “God Loves Stories” with Jeremy Arcus-Goldberg from 9:30-10:30.

We have a new feature for our teens: Calling All Teens with Jessica Lowenthal from 10:30-11:45.

Our Religious School will have classes from 9:30-11:45 and will welcome our Young Families for Boker Tov Shabbat from 9:30-10:30, with babysitting following the Boker Tov Shabbat.

Our Sholom Cafe will be in the lobby from 9:30-10:45 and we will have a Kiddush Luncheon for all beginning at 12:00.

Young Families Apple Picking

Apple PickingJoin us Sunday, September 18th at 10:00am for Apple Picking at Tougas Family Farm in Northborough 

Meet at the picnic tables near the entrance of Tougas Farm. We’ll start with a Jewish enrichment activity and then take a hayride into the orchard for apple picking. We look forward to making new friends, having fun together, and getting into the Rosh Hashanah spirit! Contact the Young Families committee with any questions.

Cost is $26.00 per family of 4 and 1 peck of apples, $36.00 per family of 6 and one-half bushel of apples.

Jazz’n Jewz Mother’s Day Schmooze Concert

Mother’s Day was a special day at Temple Beth Sholom as we enjoyed the jazz singing of Rav-Hazzan Scott Sokol and his mother Carol Sokol, accompanied by Ed Broadwin, Ted Casher, Zac Casher, Jim Guttman and David Sparr.  There were approximately 75 people in attendance enjoying a cafe style concert with refreshments while listening to the exceptional voices and music.

Jazz’n Jews: Mother’s Day Shmooze Tickets Available Now

Get your tickets now for this Cantor’s Cabaret featuring an afternoon of music and mingling, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Cantor Sokol at TBS.

Featuring vocalists: Cantor Scott Sokol and his mother Carol, along with some of Boston’s finest jazz musicians: Ed Broadwin, Ted Casher, Zac Casher, Jim Guttman and David Sparr.

Tickets can be purchased in advance online via PayPal or by check or credit card by contacting the Temple office at (508) 877-2540 x205. Cost: $18/person, or reserve a table of 10 for $150.

All tickets will be available at the door the day of the event.
